EPE PIC ICEBREAKER
ICEbreaker is a real-time PIC In-Circuit Emulator, programmer, debugger and development system! Featured exclusively in EPE magazine, March 2000, ICEBreaker combines Microchip's MPLAB development software with the advanced self-debugging features of the latest PIC microcontrollers. In-Circuit Debugging (ICD) is a new development system which is incorporated into the latest devices, and permits code development & debugging under PC control until the system is running as required. A link to a standard PC serial port is all that is needed to Run and Debug programs for many PIC chips inc. the PIC16F84 as well as the PIC 16F873,4,6 and 7. Works alongside Microchip's standard MPASM and MPLAB programs. Note: some hardware functions and PortB 6 & 7 are used in Circuit Debugging and are not available. Features include: Reset, Halt on external pulse, Set Breakpoint, Examine and Change Registers, EEPROM and program memory; Load Program, Single Step with status display, W Register, Program counter, and user selected 'Watch Window' registers. ICEBreaker also includes 2 pole relay, stepper motor driver transistors, input switches, patch leads and open collector transistor.
The EPE ICEBreaker is an easy introduction to ICD with very simple demonstration programs, but it is also a powerful debugger and development unit in its own right. The entire unit is assembled on a high-quality printed circuit board. 20MHz full speed operation, PC serial port connection, use with MPLAB, standard MPASM language.
