This programmer grew from our experience with our Simple PIC Programmer (kit 857). It became apparent that the same programming principles could be used to cover a wider range of devices in the Microchip PIC family, and that many of the limitations of the earlier version could be overcome at low cost to produce a versatile tool.
Magenta's Super PIC Programmer - covers most of the commonly used serially-programmable PIC devices. All switching of power and programming voltage is under computer control with LEDs indicating the status continuously.
The Super PIC Programmer reads, programs and verifies PIC 16F6x, 7x and 8x chips. It connects to any PC parallel port via an 8-core cable. The programmer is also suitable for in-situ programming when a suitable connecting lead is made up.
The kit includes printed circuit board, lead, software download instructions (Download details - see below), and turned pin sockets for 18, 28 and 40 pin i.c.s.
